The unique Haapakoski Ironworks is situated at the border of Pieksämäki and Suonenjoki. The nationally significant, built-up heritage environment is a model example of the era of industrialisation that began in the 19th century. The layers of time and the working history of everyday life is seen well at the protected ironworks milieu. You can familiarise in the unique atmosphere and stories of the ironworks by taking part in guided tours that are organised for groups, duration approximately one hour. Iran Farmi is a little pet zoo where the animals live around the year. We are open on Wednesdays and Sundays when the visiting tours begin at 1 and 3 o’clock. Do not forget to let me know a day or two before you come for a visit. You can reach me by email, messenger or with a call.

We have one of the largest packs of reindeers outside Lapland. Reindeers and their babies are living around the house in the summertime. In Iran Farmi lives 10 different breeds of chickens, ducks, pheasants, geese and pigeon. The most amazing of them are Indian peacocks and African pearlhens.

The zoo area is compact but there is a lot to see: over 200 animals together. The guided tour takes cirka 1,5 hours. You can feed the reindeers, goats and bunnies. We have also a small cafe where you can buy drinks and homemade sweet or savoury pastries. We use our own eggs in baking.

Tickets are: 6 € for children from 2 – 12 years, 8 € for over 12 years. Please notice that we accept only cash!

Teittilän talli is a cosy horse riding school, which is situated between the beautiful village landscapes. Teittilän talli is a member of Finland´s horse riders unite. The distance to Pieksämäki – 8 km, to Naarajärvi – 3 km. Teittilän talli consists of school, 2 paddocks for ponies and new stylish 10 places private corral for horses. For our clients and pupils are available big and comfortable manege 24m x 55m, which contains 300 places tribune and warm café. Also two illuminated street grounds, ground for long ride walks, different tracks with barriers and place for horse swimming (on the distance 600 m) are available. Track is being renewed constantly, nowadays we have there lots of pits, down jumps and water barrier. Besides normal lessons we offer horse riding for special groups, summer camps, walks and picnics, horse-drawn carriages, sledding and so on.
