Pieksämäki is situated in the area in Finland rich in summer cottages and you can find here a wide range of rental summer cottages. Visit Cultural Centre Poleeni on the lush shore of the lake Pieksänjärvi. Poleeni is a 30-year-old well-known architectural and tourist destination which is called the living room of the inhabitants of Pieksämäki.

Pieksämäen Iso-Pappila with its changing exhibitions, attic with art, beautiful garden Sylvin puisto and outdoor events is a summer cultural tourism centre.

Nukkekoti – the Villa of Joonas Auronko is a house of play and adventure. Children may participate in guided workshops and moments of activity in Nukkekoti. Also the environment of the house tempts to adventures.

Savon Radan museo (railway museum) at the railway station familiarizes visitors in an interesting way with the history of Pieksämäki as the junction of railways.

The Cultural Centre Poleeni provides not only versatile own theatre, exhibition and concert offerings but also good-quality guest theatrical performances and concerts. In addition to Poleenin Teatteri, the town has productive theatre groups such as the already over 30-year-old Pieksämäen Teatteri, Satelliittiteatteri and Päivällisteatteri. The performances can easily be connected with eating or having coffee at the Cafe-restaurant Millaano, UKKO Bistro & Deli, Pöyhölän Pappila or other restaurants and cafes.

In the summer you can admire impressive vehicles at Big Wheels, which is one of our country’s largest open-air classic car round-ups for the whole family. The atmosphere of old times is available at Weturitorin Antiikkimarkkinat in Veturitori and Antiikkia ja löytöjä in Venetmäki.
